The Village of Cary is located in McHenryCounty and is approximately 50 miles northwest of Chicago. The Village is situated on the scenic Fox River. 

Cary is serviced by the Cary Community Consolidated School District 26 and serves approximately 3,500 students from grades K-8. Community High School District 155 serves grades 9-12 and approximately 7,000 students. Cary is also served by McHenryCountyCollege which offers an assortment of technical, vocational and 2-year degree programs.

The Village of Cary is approximately 15 miles north of the I-90 tollway. The Union Pacific line operates 22 commuter trains daily from Harvard to Chicago, including a stop at Cary's train station located in the downtown area.
