The Village of East Dundee, located in Kane County, was incorporated in 1871. A historic district along the Fox River and quaint stores on Main Street constitute the commercial part of East Dundee. In 1852 using clay from the riverbank, Dundee Brickyard opened its doors. After the Chicago Fire of 1871, bricks were shipped into the city of to help rebuild. Dundee brickyard, now Haeger Potteries is still located in East Dundee, with a factory store and museum featuring many unique pieces.
